The INDIA-UK discussion meeting is aimed to get together a number of active individuals around two globally relevant and related themes. The objective is to identify new solutions and contribute to larger international efforts. This discussion meeting is highly interdisciplinary covering chemistry, water process engineering, nanotechnology, sensors and renewable energy. This will also enable networking of like-minded people to pursue other problems of global importance. As a result of this networking, about five problems will be identified for future exploration. Those may be for example, novel polymers for water treatment, biosensor technologies, coupling of renewable energy and membranes for rural water supplies, nanoparticle - membrane hybrid processes and polymer - nanotechnology incorporation strategies.
